Work Experience Programme

Base Titanium is committed to providing training and knowledge transfer to upgrade the skills of Kenyans and encourages secondary school pupils to gain work experience exposure in our operations.

Through partnership with several local secondary schools, the work experience programme provides exposure to a large-scale industrial environment for pupils in Kwale and Likoni communities.

It provides an avenue for final year high school students to appreciate first-hand the workings of a large mining operation. Over an intensive 2-day period, the students participate in small group training sessions in subjects like computing, first aid and fire fighting, as well as experiencing a number of work situations through guided tours of the operations.

In the first intake in 2014 over 70 students from 7 local high schools participated in the programme. It is designed to run during school holidays periods every April and August.
