Construction of social infrastructure is an important part of Base Titanium’s community programs. We employ a collaborative process of evaluating the needs of the communities and cross-referencing the County Integrated Development Plan prepared by the Kwale County Government to guide development activities within the county.
Community Infrastructure
Infrastructure Projects
Education
Base Titanium has built and refurbished several schools in Kwale and Mombasa counties to create a better learning environment for students, as well as improving educational facilities for special needs children in both areas.
Medical
The Company has invested heavily in a health centre, dispensaries, a blood bank and medical surgery facilities, as well as upgrading work to improve service delivery at the Kenya Medical Training College in Msambweni.
Water
Various programs have been implemented to address the lack of access to water for communities located near the mine site and at the host resettlement site. Access to safe, clean water is critical to ensure positive health outcomes for local residents.
