Base Toliara will give priority in Training & Employment to woman & men from the project area.

As agreed with the Toliara Commission for Transparency in Recruitment (CTR), preference for training and future employment opportunities will be given to women and men originating in the project area in the communes of Tsianisiha, Ankilimalinike, Belalanda, Maromiandra and Toliara 1; with first priority to women and men directly impacted by Base Toliara activities.

This position is needed for an initial period of three months to support the geological resource drilling programme in the Base Toliara project area. This position will start on 8 January 2019.  Your duties will include:

  • Compliance with all Base health, safety and environmental procedures
  • Organisation of environmental line clearing activities to make way for drilling activities
  • Supervision of line clearers to ensure compliance with instructions and procedures
  • Reporting to Environmental supervisors on daily work activities and issues.

 

Selection Criteria

APPLICANTS SHOULD HAVE:

  • A Bachelor degree in Geology, Environment or similar degree
  • An understanding of environmental management regulations
  • Some experience in leading a team or group (supervisor experience not necessary)
  • Good health and fitness for this job (you will need to complete a medical with drug and alcohol test)
  • Willingness to learn and be part of a team
  • Honesty and positive work ethic
